A tight, clean, sound copy in cream paper covered boards quarter bound in textured burgandy paper with silver lettering on the spine with very minor overall shelf wear. The dust jacket has minor overall shelf wear mainly in the form of some light creasing around the spine top edge. A biography of a couple who were two of the most influential figures of their times. Henry Luce was the publisher of Time, Life Fortune, and Sports Illustrated. Clare had become managing editor of Vanity Fair in the 1930s. Their work and their characters put them in contact with the great men of the time. The two met at a Manhattan party and Henry divorced his wife to marry her. They in turn had a tumultuous marriage that eventually ended in divorce also. Illustrated with black and white photographs.
