Comic
Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Charles M. Schulz (illustrator). 48 pages. 4to. An original 1947 anti-communist propaganda comic book that contained violent images which made it a target of PARADE OF PLEASURE ( page 102). Three variant covers were published: A) with no price on the front cover; B) with a circle on the front cover containing a price of 10 cents; and C) with a circle without a price on the front cover. The comic offered here is Variant A. Among the cartoonists contributing to the comic book was Charles Schulz, who three years later created Peanuts, the iconic franchise that kept him busy for the next 50 years. The book offered here is in very good condition: clean and bright, pages that are only lightly toned. There is a hint of pulling at the staples, but all pages are tightly secured. The only significant issues are on the back cover, which is reasonably clean and bright, but does have an old tape repair, one short closed tear and a tiny chip on the bottom edge. An attractive copy of a very high demand item. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Comic.
