Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Beautiful book and dust jacket. The book has perfectly clean covers, bright gilt (the photo prefers silver) lettering on the spine. The edges and corners are in very good shape. There is one thin bump/crease off the front top edge. The page edges are very clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The book is very solidly bound with nicely tight pages from cover to cover and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are in exceptional condition, very clean. I didn't see any soiling at all. I didn't see any creasing. There are no markings. There are no attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There are many photographs. They all appear to be in perfect condition. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. I don't see any soiling. There is a little tear off the bottom edge of the rear cover. The flaps are in excellent condition, perfectly clean, a tiny crinkle at each top corner. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'Native Nations is a magnificent distillation of the best of photographer/ethnographer/adventurer Edward S. Curtis's landmark twenty-volume study of the Indian peoples of North America. Beautifully designed and printed, this powerful combination of word and image stands alone as an invaluable and irreplaceable record of the native nations before their cultures and spirit were so devastated by the wave of westward expansion.'.
