Signed by both the author and the translator on the front free endpaper in the year of publication. Böll has also written a dedication. The boards have slight edge wear but are otherwise unmarked. Browning to the page edges with three dark spots to the fore edges and some scattered dark spotting to the bottom edges. There is light browning to the pages which are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has half inch closed tears at the top and bottom of the rear panel and a little chipping at the top and bottom of the spine and at the corners. There is a one inch closed tear at the top of the rear flap, a crease down the left edge of the front panel and slight discolouration to the rear panel. First printing. Signed by Author and Translato.
