French scholar Bedier's reconstruction of the classic medieval romance, collectible by fans of Edward Gorey since it is another in the series of Anchor paperbacks (#A2) for which he did the cover illustration & typography (though not attributed in book, so missed by many!). Orig. published in 1900, with a copyright of 1945 in the book, this is the First Mass Market Paperback edition from 1955 (Toledano), in 190 pages + list of other Anchor books in rear. Condition is VG: completely clean & bright inside, pages white with mild tanning to edges, unmarked save for former owner's name in neat pen to ffep. Binding straight & tight (feels unopened).
