Find out what may have happened to the hornless horned dinosaur, where the first feathered dinosaur came from, and who the new heavyweight dinosaur champion of the world is.
Read this beautifully illustrated book to find the answers. Exciting and easy to read, you and your children will delight in 15 of the planet's newest discoveries. This step back in time will come to life before your eyes in this wonderfully entertaining and factual book.
Gr 4-8-A look at 15 of the most recent and intriguing finds. Each two-page spread provides factual information on an animal and its discovery, a "Dino Data" box, and a full-color painting. A few of the creatures such as the Seismosaurus and the Giganotosaurus have appeared in other books including Don Lessem's Seismosaurus (Carolrhoda, 1996), but for others, such as the Timimus and Afrovenator, this may be the best and only source of information. Sovak's excellent illustrations dramatically pose the dinosaurs in their natural surroundings, and Currie and Mastin keep the text lighthearted. A not-to-be-missed volume to keep collections up to date.-Cathryn A. Camper, Minneapolis Public Library
