Review:
Novelist Donald Wetzel poignantly tackles one of the most heartrending medical issues--Alzheimer's disease--with wisdom and humor. He is the braver for it because he believes he is in the early stages of the disease. Wetzel's style is remarkable, using long-term memory as the fabric of his novel, a fabric interwoven with tangents and memory loss that make the tensility of his book all the stronger. Rather than pity, Wetzel calls for attention--to a fine storyteller who recognizes and reflects upon a limitation of what it is to be human.
