About the Author:
Elizabeth Pisani studied Classical Chinese at Oxford, and started her life as a journalist, working as a foreign correspondent for Reuters, the Economist and Asia Times. She has also written for the International Herald Tribune, the Financial Times, and other publications. She has a London MSc in Medical Demography and a PHD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. She has worked in the field of HIV prevention for a decade, for organisations including UNAIDS, WHO and Family Health International.
