Few parodists have their target's number like Von Sholly. Gigantic beasts, hideous space aliens, and putrescent reanimated corpses abound in this parody of cheap horror movies. The human characters mug terror, revulsion, and, in the case of the villains, slavering evil to beat the band. The color palette ranges from Jell-O to Day-Glo. Nearly every sentence ends with an exclamation point. And since photos are the basis of Von Sholly's stuff, it all looks so real! Not! The successor to Pete Von Sholly's morbid [BKL F 1 04] isn't as verbally clever, but still it's a treat all the way. An inane prequel to Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World (1912), the granddaddy of prehistoric-beast adventures; a Poltergeist/Evil Dead-ish cursed house (and cemetery) caper; a gross-out Blob knockoff ("The Loogie"); and two-count-'em-two episodes of the incredible, inflatable basset hound Hounduu are among the high points.
