Savanna Animals (Padded Board Books) - Hardcover

Since 2002. Tiger Tales titles feature vibrant and bold illustrations paired with editorially sound and age appropriate stories. These engaging tales are written with a young child's world in mind and will capture the imagination of children and adults alike. With their cushioned covers; small, square format; thick cardboard pages; and bright, lively animal photographs, the titles in the Padded Animal Board Books series seem targeted at toddlers. The text, however, aims for a preschool and early-elementary audience, with its rich assortment of fact bites. In this title, each spread focuses on a different animal of the savanna, and short paragraphs connect information with examples from kids' worlds. A six-ton adult elephant, for example, weighs "as much as four cars," and kids will learn that chimpanzees clean their ears, "just like you!" Whether kids simply browse the pages on their own and enjoy the expressive animal portraits or listen closely to the detailed facts, this attractive title will pull interest from babies to young school-goers.
