About the Author:
Geboren am 15.1.1791 in Wien; gestorben am 21.1.1872 in Wien 1807 nahm Grillparzer, Sohn eines angesehenen Rechtsanwalts, in Wien das Studium der Rechte auf. Nach dem Studienabschluß 1811 war er zunächst Privatlehrer, dann Beamter. Nach einer (unbesoldeten) Konzipistenstelle in der Hofbibliothek wurde er 1813 bei der Hofkammer als Konzeptspraktikant angestellt, 1821 ins Finanzministerium versetzt. 1832 wurde er Direktor des Hofkammerarchivs und bekleidete diese Stelle, bis er 1856 in den Ruhestand trat.
