The journals were written by Sir John Francis Taylor, perhaps the foremost evangelist of the last century. Grace and her Great Uncle Paiyan discover the existence of Sir John's journals while on a missionary journey in the jungle wilderness of New Guinea. Their amazing discovery sets them on a course that will change their lives forever. This suspenseful and fast-paced story begins in 1945 with the struggles of a small band of Christian believers who are forced to flee their South Pacific island home. The fleeing families eventually found refuge in the untamed jungles of northern New Guinea. As the small band of believers engaged the native peoples of their new home, many received the Good News. However, a deadly force eventually drove the burgeoning new church to go underground to become the hidden church in the northern regions of New Guinea. Thirty-two years later, in early 1987, Paiyan goes searching for, and discovers the existence of this precious group of believers, vowing to return and join them. The story then shifts and becomes centered on Grace Wheaton who is facing a personal dilemma of her own. Once resolved, she and her father join Paiyan in late 1987 as he returns to the mission field of New Guinea where death and danger were their constant companions. This volume concludes as Paiyan and Grace make a discovery that is beyond belief. In 1896, Sir John Francis Taylor spent six months in a particular valley village in the interior jungles of New Guinea. While he was there, German forces detained him. However, before leaving with them, he purposely left his seagoing chest with the village chief for safekeeping, fearing that his life would soon end. That chest contained many personal items, but most importantly, it contained Sir John's personal journals. The chest was built to survive the harshest environments, so his journals were kept in near perfect condition. Upon returning to the States from the current day New Guinea mission trip, Paiyan challenged Grace to use Sir John's journals to write the account of their family heritage. Upon a thorough study of the journals, Grace discovered that her great, great, grandfather had faithfully detailed his life with biographical dedication. The journals also revealed that John Taylor had evangelized a wide swath of the Pacific. John Taylor's legacy is two-fold. He is the spiritual father and grandfather to countless thousands of souls throughout the Far East, and secondly, he is responsible for the Taylor family’s godly heritage, which can be traced back to his acceptance of Christ in the English countryside in 1865. Volume Two begins in Victorian England with John Taylor's story in "The Keys for John Francis Taylor."

About the Author:
David McFadden is a native Texan whose only regret is that he did not receive Christ at an earlier age. He lives in North Texas with wife, Cathy, and boasts of four daughters and six grandchildren. David and Cathy attend Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas where they are active volunteers in various ministries within the church. David states: "Sharing my love for the life-changing power that is resident in God’s Word is my entire motivation for the writing projects that you will find on this website. The “calling” that God has drawn me to is this: to write down and share the truth and to demonstrate the power that is resident in His living Word. "Many Christians are reluctant to buy novels, thinking these books aren’t likely to bring spiritual growth or life transformation. Fiction does not mean false. Jesus often told stories in the form of parables to help reveal truth in a tangible and relatable way. Some of those stories were fictional. In other words, He created visual images in the minds of His listeners so He could demonstrate a relevant truth. "I challenge you to consider my books. The stories they contain present scripturally accurate themes, guidance and plausible scenarios that we all encounter. Yet, much care has been taken to make the stories entertaining, as well as exciting and suspenseful with a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. Although the people in the stories are fictional, yet they face life just as we do. But most importantly, God becomes relevant to these life-like characters, allowing us a glimpse of how God desires to work in our own lives."
