The Why Are You Here Café - Softcover

After attending college at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, John returned to Chicago to pursue a career as a commercial pilot.

When a previously undiagnosed heart condition put an abrupt end to his aviation career, John returned to school as an evening student at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where he earned his MBA. After spending five years as a strategy consultant helping companies identify ways to be more successful, he and his wife decided to leave the corporate world and travel.

Over the course of nine months, using a combination of boat, horse, plane, bicycle, train, car, elephant, scooter, walking, camel, and bus, they traveled over 70,000 miles (almost three times the circumference of the earth) as they backpacked around the world.

When he returned to the U.S., John helped found the Business Philosophy practice at Morningstar Consulting Group. Formed with the purpose of "Helping people realize Passion, Purpose, and Self-awareness every day of their lives", the firm assists individuals and organizations identify the reasons why they exist, the accomplishments they want to achieve, and the values they want to operate by.

In addition to The Why Are You Here Café, John has also written, a humorous and eye opening narrative describing his and his wife's experiences during their travels. That book will be released in November of 2003.
