About the Author:
Margery Cuyler is the author of many books for children, including From Here to There, The Little Dump Truck, the chapter book Weird Wolf, and That’s Good! That’s Bad! The idea for the first book in the series came from a conversation with her son, Thomas, who asked, "Can't bad things change into good things?" Ms. Cuyler grew up in the oldest house in Princeton, NJ, and started writing stories as soon as she learned how to write. She now lives in the same house with her husband, sons and two cats.
David Catrow has illustrated numerous books for children, among them Who Said That? by Robert Burleigh. David modeled the little boy in the That's Good! That's Bad! books after his son, D.J., when D.J. was five years old. Mr. Catrow lives in Springfield, Ohio, with his family.

Ages 5-8. The second offering from the team that pairs terror and relief in its wacky text and even wackier illustrations. A boy and his grandma are going on vacation to the Grand Canyon. A series of misadventures begins when the boy slips over the edge of a trail onto the back of a mule, is bounced into the Colorado River, gets scooped up by a helicopter, and so on. Each event is punctuated by the refrain, "Oh, that's good. No, that's BAD!"--or vice versa. Catrow's wildly improbable pen, ink, and watercolor pictures are full of exaggeration and energy: bug eyes, tiny hands and feet, startled expressions on the wildlife. Sound effects abound (OOPSY-DAISY! CHURA, CHURLA! SPLOSH!), making this particularly fine for reading aloud. The boy and his grandma (a wonderful granny in hiking boots and a flannel shirt) end up together, of course, and a map shows where the boy has been. Fun! GraceAnne DeCandido
