About the Author:
Kay Chorao, the beloved author-illustrator of many books for young children, lives in New York City.
From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-This delightful collection of poems and nursery rhymes is an absolute must for all libraries. While some of the choices are very familiar, such as "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" and "Three Young Rats," lesser-known poems are also presented. There are also excerpts from the work of William Wordsworth, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and William Blake. All of the selections feature rhythmic language that will appeal to preschoolers. The colorful illustrations are filled with sweet-faced youngsters and baby animals romping through the countryside and engaged in a multitude of activities. On some of the pages, flowered or checkered borders highlight the pastel hues used in the spread. There is much for children to look at in these thoughtful depictions, as they listen to the lively rhymes. A good companion to Chorao's other compilations, such as Baby's Lap Book (1990) and Baby's Bedtime Book (1984, both Dutton), this is a treasure of a treasury.
