From Booklist:
This adequate and comprehensive look at natural health methods and disease prevention suffers from a too-chatty writing style and a confusing format, which its promised index should help alleviate. However, the information is sound and often documented, and Aesoph, a naturopath, recognizes the difficulty in making a lot of health changes at once. Following two introductory chapters on the general principles of becoming and staying healthy, a dozen chapters cover such topics as the immune system, liver support, skin care, and stress relief. Of most value is part 2, which presents natural remedies for 30 common ailments, including prevention, homeopathic remedies, food and nutrition, herbs, lifestyle factors, and warning signs. The author's 107 health hints appear sequentially throughout the entire text. A few recipes and exercises dot the text; see and see also references help tie together related subjects. Appendixes include a too-brief listing of the actions of 108 herbs, an excellent review of 60 common homeopathic remedies, a short resource list, and questions to ask practitioners. A mixed bag in a crowded field. Penny Spokes
