From School Library Journal:
PreS - Grade 3 After a farm cat learns that he is related to the King of Beasts, he tries to impress the other barnyard animals. Only the mule appreciates the cat's importance, and he helps the haughty feline release a circus lion so that the big cat can visit the farm. Too late the small cat realizes his large cousin's carnivorous ways. By using his wits, the cat is able to save his barnyard friends from the lion and in the process learns the value of his relations with all living creatures. The watercolor illustrations are delightful, particularly the animals' facial expressions, which reveal their emotions and character. A prince of a book. Kathy Piehl, Mankato State University, Minn.
