Contains theoretical and descriptive approaches to chemistry. The clearest change in this edition is in the art programme. It aims to teach students how to visualize ideas and experiments. New three-dimensional and realistic illustrations should help bring chemistry to life. Its additional features include: "Chemistry in Action" essays and "Applied Chemistry" examples to reinforce students' grasp of concepts and principles; over 250 worked examples to help students develop their problem-solving skills; practice exercises which accompany each example so that students can immediately check their understanding of the procedure used to solve the example.
