From Library Journal:
Ressmeyer's book, from the publishers of "A Day in the Life" (of America, the Soviet Union, etc.) series, replaces the temporal format with a geographical one to present a photographic record of the world's astronomical observatories, space exploration launch sites, and research centers. This attractive book is sprinkled with some of the more spectacular photos returned by astronauts and space probes. Unfortunately, the images are not backed up by much in the way of narrative--most of which consists of captions. Given the price tag, libraries already owning similar oversized books, such as Entering Space by Joseph P. Allen with Russell Martin ( LJ 2/1/85) or Time-Life's Life in Space (Silver, 1983), can forgo this title.
